Fairhaven window shopping

After seeing how beautifully the store had been decorated for the holidays, I simply could not resist going in to pick out a few simple gifts from my favorite Fairhaven sister stores: Village Books and Paper Dreams.

I fortified myself with a few dark chocolate caramels and some of Paper Dream's homemade fudge to keep myself clear-headed and alert while shopping. The store, tonight, seemed more a feast for the eyes than ever before, and a shopping addict's nightmare. Over in Village Books, I spotted far too many titles that looked and sounded like "must reads" (and therefore, must-haves!) and had to exercise considerable restraint while strolling through this wonderful, independent bookstore. After making a few, select purchases for a few of my fave folks, I beat a hasty retreat and set out to pick up some more mundane items, such as scotch tape, bread, and drain cleaner.

This was a good start. I know I'll be back soon.
