Train trip in the snow

We took our seats in the big red train and left with Chur snow falling. 

The train rolled along and we enjoyed the views from the big panoramic windows.  The train was not busy and we were able to go to the end of carriage and open the window to lean out a little and take photos.  It was great fun seeing the front of the train as it went around hairpin bends and the red stark against the snow as it ploughed the rails ahead.  Up, down and around, the train did it all and most of it in snow, the views were fabulous and we loved seeing fresh snow everywhere. 



We had lunch in Tirano and then headed back to the train for the way back.  We enjoyed a glass of wine on the way back and the views all over again.  The snow had stopped and even cleared in some places but the sights were still lovely. We arrived back in the dark but it was fab, we had a lovely day.  See a few more photos in the extras.
