Storm Erik ... ?

We walked on the promenade at lunchtime in the lea of the seafront buildings and were protected from  the 35mph  SSW wind. The Irish Meteo folk have named this storm Erik. Will it be a help or a hindrance to the Irish rugby teams (men's and women's) playing Scotland this weekend?

Earlier we went to our local station to collect more train tickets and the wee plastic booth that houses the ticket machine was being buffeted so violently by Erik we thought it was about to take off.

My day began with an early voluntary shift, followed by work calls over surprisingly robust video phone lines, and it concluded with an organically sourced supper in front of the log burner.
