Balfour X-Ray

Received a call from the Stromness surgery indicating my Mum had to go through to Kirkwall for an immediate x-ray. After a few phone calls l got hold of a car and collected her. The Balfour hospital dealt with her brilliantly.

Although she was in some pain she asked the x-ray mannie if there was any sawdust between her lugs. Without missing a beat he said 'So that's where your son gets it fae.'

On arriving home my mother insisted that I make her a cup of birse tea.
