Memories

This dish and spoon sit on the worktop in the kitchen, as they have done since I brought them back from South Africa last year. They look big, but actually they are small - the spoon, which is beautifully etched with the map of Africa, is only 13cm long. 

They are reminders of when we were in South Africa - this time last year. No travel that far this winter, but we are going somewhere for a couple of weeks - setting off on Friday. Nowhere near that far, and no flying involved, but south, so maybe it will be a little milder, a little brighter. But whatever, we will be right by the sea.
