Bricks safari
Wisley RHS Garden in Surrey is staging a fun exhibition at the moment. In amongst the plants in the huge glass house there are life size models of safari animals, made entirely of Lego bricks. Each animal is made of about 30,000 bricks and they are in such natural poses. There is an impressive elephant, a benign looking gorilla, hyenas, turtles, an ostrich, macaws and many others besides. Normous came out with me again (wonders will never cease!) and was impressed with the creations. Lots of animals in extra - I couldn't resist them!
Wisley garden was beginning to come to life with snowdrops everywhere. There is a massive rebuilding programme going on with a new reception area, gift shop and nursery planned. It is due to be finished in April, but at the moment although the actual buildings look finished, the surrounding area waiting to be laid out as gardens is just a sea of mud.
