Diary of an Edinburgher

Big Walk (for some)

Bike.

We decided to take a wee trip to a reclamation yard, just for a nose around... and what a lot of treasures were held within! We had vaguely thought of replacing our interior doors, which are rather scrubby (not mention and inch or so too short, thanks to the people who chopped them off to fit in carpets). But it's too complicated. They're all different sizes. So, Plan B - we could just spruce the existing ones up with a good sanding and varnish. But Plan C is even better - get a handyman to do them. We lusted over the remote controlled real flame gas fires. Beats lugging nets of logs around! Maybe next year...

From there we popped to Queen's Park and went for a walk round St Margaret's Loch. It was a gorgeous day, though with a bit of a wind, so it felt much colder than recent days with below zero degrees. St Anthony's Chapel ruins up on the ridge in this shot.

JR and Archie walked through the Park and then all the way home. Well done them. Both quite puggled this evening.

We enjoyed watching Henry Cole ride through the (NZ) South Island this afternoon. Should we go back to NZ for a visit? Sometimes we're tempted...

Go the sheets washed and dried on the line! (Missing our pulley).
