feathers

saw a little actual sunlight today, which was nice, if short-lived. thought i'd hit the park for a big sky pic this afternoon, but it was a bit meh, so kept on wandering down to the loch to visit the swans and found beside them a lot of very noise geese. i'm always fascinated by the sinuous moves both pull when preening, as well as the complicated arrangement and layering of the feathers for maximum warmth and water-repellantyness while still being stylish. caught this chap in full fluff mode ;-)
