Alhambra, Granada

Today had two highlights: the Alhambra and blipmeet Granada!
We arrived early at the Alhambra and spent a wonderful six hours visiting the complex. The highlights for me included: the Comares Palace with the stunning patio of myrtles - a large pond which reflects the palace and is flanked by rows of myrtle hedges; the Alcabazar with its gardens, towers and views across the city and to Albaicin; the Lions Palace with its elegant Moorish columns; and the Generalife - a series of large gardens which are so perfectly constructed that the play between light, water, plants and sounds is intoxicating. Arachne captures its headiness here. This is Arab art and architecture at its very best!
And here we are in the evening with Guiri (and F who took the picture) - blipmeet Granada - and what a fabulous evening we had - we talked, ate and drank non-stop for several hours and wished the evening could have lasted longer.
