End Of Day
After an over cast day there were these colours reflecting from the sun setting in the west. This is looking east. Totaranui is a 1 km long beach and site of a large campsite in the Able Tasman National Park. The beach is formed from eroded granite sands and is an amazing golden colour. (extra) There were young boys fishing at the end of the boat ramp. The Dad on his bike had come to check on them. This is the spot where phones connect to the outside world. Why they want to be connected I don't know. I enjoyed the peace and quiet and having no distractions.
One of the books I read was loaned by a friend and is set in the Australian outback. It isn't new but was gripping. The Lost Boy by Robert Wainwright. He gave a background for all the main characters before the incident happens. It explained why they were all drawn to the harsh landscape and why they stayed. When an eight year old boy disappears into the bush they come from all over the Northern Territory to search for him. It put me in a melancholy mood and so you get this song quote:
There it is, we are only one push from the nest
There it is, we are only one argument from death
There it is, the sun rises, but the sun also sets . . . Ryan Adams
