I love walking through Falmouth Cemetery there is always something new to discover. It has a “Sword Of Sacrifice”, installed by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission indicating that there are over 100 War Graves within. These range from Able Seaman Bill Savage VC from WWII to the unknown Italians from WWI and others in between, there is an Earl and numerous others of distinction.
But today I discovered this one, it is one of the large style but normal headstones with the usual inscription on its front. However on the rear is the inscription to a member of the family killed in action at the Battle of Ypres on 24 April 1915.
I was born 24 April 1953.
