The Path Well Trodden

Walking up the track with Bella this morning it was evident we weren't the first up there.
Lots of trainer, welly and hiking boot prints as well as paw prints and tyre tracks.
It made me wonder about all the thousands of people who must have walked these Dales over the centuries. Farmers, shepherds, drovers, travellers, Romans, Norsemen (Dales comes from Norse word for Valley) Danes; not to mention all the wild animals. Footprint upon footprint, year upon year, century upon century.
If these hills could talk.....
