A pair of green eyes
(Sorry Thomas Hardy!)
Had a very successful photoshoot down at my cotoneaster tree/bush this morning (it's an environmental weed in this area - sorry Nillumbik council, but I didn't plant it and now it's huge and an integral part of my boundary hedge!)
It is flowering at the moment and is positively alive with insect activity. I had a lot of images to choose from. But this fly was in my parent's field instead and I just loved it's green eyes, even though it's a huge March fly (Horse fly) and has a nasty bite. This one didn't seem inclined to bite me but was happy to bask in the sun on a bramble leaf while I snapped it.
Much better bigger!
