Flicking Bogeys At The Sun

My Dear Princess & Dear Fellows,

It has been hot. Except in our office, where the a/c is cranked up so high, I am having to wear a thick jumper.

"Jesus Christ!" I complained, looking out of the window at the Kiwis strolling about in t-shirts and shorts.

Lemon was too cold to answer. She was wearing my emergency cardigan that I had loaned her, and her jacket.

Meanwhile, in the house, Cazza and the boys were sweltering with our own little a/c units struggling to cope with the sudden heatwave. Although in these pictures you see the lads enjoying a sunbeam. I love Punky's satisfied smile in the main blip, and then how he's "paddling the sun" in an extra.

And in the midst of all this I remember what we used to sing in the playground at Barrowcliff Primary School in Scarborough.

We had joy,
We had fun,
Flicking bogeys at the sun,
But the sun got too hot,
And the bogeys turned to snot

Did you have that one? I'm pretty sure it must have travelled up and down the country on the kid-grapevine.

S.
