The Commute

My Dear Princess & Dear Fellows,

This is me on my way to work. Whereas before I stopped just short of the Beehive, the new office is right behind it.

Today Lemon was telling us about her family holiday. And if the words "family" and "holiday" strung together strike fear in your heart then you'll understand when she described it as stressful and annoying.

Her mum, in particular, complained the whole time about the heat. They had gone to Rarotonga in the Cook Islands (where half of the family traces its roots).

"We were all covered in sweat the whole time," explained Lemon, "there was no escape from it. Mum wanted to get straight back on the plane and go home."

In the end, it was organised for her to go home early. Lemon re-packed her suitcase for her. "It was 22kg," Lemon explained, "so I decided to lighten it by putting some of her stuff into mine."

"EIGHT THICK WOOLLY SWEATERS!" she exclaimed.

"WTF mum?!?" she asked.

Her mother had explained she was cold when she was packing.

"YES!" replied Lemon. "You were in WELLINGTON when you were packing!! For RARO!!"

Her mum failed to see the point.

On another note, Lemon and I agreed we really could have done with some of those woolly sweaters in the office today. Outside, people sunbathed. It is just cruel.
