Snow's gone, rain's arrived.

This is St.Boltolph's Priory church in Colchester, or rather what is left of it. This was the first Augustinian priory church and was built in the eleventh century. It lasted until 1648 when it was ruined in the Siege of Colchester.

Apparently it would have had a finished render of plaster, but this has worn away over the years and all that is left is flint and old re-used Roman bricks, no doubt robbed from the Roman wall or another of the many Roman structures about the town.
