To the Opera

First time for me to see the gigantic new building next door that houses everything the Opera needs (see HERE) on a clear night after a bright day.  All those panels have to do with climate control and sound proofing (as well as decor...)   the considerable sets come thru big doors to the stage next door.  We were early because the traffic is unpredictable now with a main N-S route/viaduct just closed and the replacement tunnel not yet open for 3 weeks (while part of the viaduct is dismantled)  So the extras are other views from the outside (with space needle) of this building, and the opera house and a bar inside looking out…. NO I haven't been to that Emerald Heights, wherever it is...---another retirement home-it might be the one advantage..a ride to the opera.. (!?) but tonight there was no traffic!


AND.. it was an excellent,  rousing, and yes, touching performance of Verde’s Il Trovatore.
