A day of goodbyes
Last night I really enjoyed The Favourite - a very different style of filming, I liked the fish eye lens and wide angle point of view that was used throughout the film - Gavin thought that was overdone and also thought it was not a plausible story until I made him google the relationship between Queen Anne and the Duchess of Malborough. I thought all the actresses did a fantastic job too.
It was another busy day - it's that time of year when we have all our annual services so today the alarm engineer came to service the alarm and fire alarm - making tea and keeping Murdoch calm is then required. Murdoch is very friendly with strangers but he does bark at them if they try to talk to me, so it's a case of keeping him calm! Gavin's car was also serviced today. That's it for all the servicing until next year!
I also managed to get some grocery shopping done - I bumped into a friend and she knew the boys were not at home by the amount of what was in my trolley! Luke left today to return to Durham - I dropped him off at the station (see extra) and did not feel too sad saying goodbye as we will see him in 2 weeks time when we have a parents' dinner in Durham. Adam returned late last night after an evening out with some friends in London, but he leaves again tonight for a school/university friends reunion dinner, and then it is back to university for him too. So it was goodbye to Luke, goodbye to Adam and tonight it is goodbye to a friend who is moving to Norway, at a farewell party at her house.
This photo was taken at about 10.30am this morning. There was a touch of pink in the sky all day, and now we have just had the most magnificent bright pink sunset. Winter sunsets are amazing!
