A morning too good to miss!

I woke up to clear skies with one single star, actually a planet, shining in the dark blue.
It was looking like it was going to be " a bright, bright, sunshiny day" as the song goes.  Only without the rain first!
Walking boots beckoned after breakfast.
Off we went into the park.
It was quieter today after the busyness we encountered when the schools were still on holiday.
Once again the light through the trees had me stopping frequently to enjoy the way it lit up the foliage and created long shadows, diffused through the woodland branches and gnarled trunks.
The water on the pools shimmered and sparkled.
The paths still covered in last years fallen leaves underfoot, away from the main routes in the 2,400 acres which comprise  the largest urban park in Britain.
It was so beautiful.
I took a photo of the swans on Keepers Pool. It's in extras.
The rest of the day was taken up with domestic stuff and I downloaded the photos and videos captured on my Christmas present trail camera which is fastened securely to the maple tree opposite the bird feeders.
I had a quick look and there is a video of our local great spotted woodpecker hammering the trunk of our old apple tree, amongst the others. A wonder they do not get a huge migraine!!
