Brown Velvet
BETTER LARGE
At last my 2 week stint in schools is over and (apart from my usual Tuesday morning school) I'm office based again.
In a way it's been nice to get out and about , to see (and blip) new places and some I already knew but haven't been to for many years. I was especially delighted with those gorgeous Lichen at Wroughton last Friday - a change is as good as a rest - but I've missed Bracondale wood. So today I took a walk there and it was so lovely - like seeing a dear friend again. Experiencing the familiar after a while away from it is a joy ..... it makes one appreciate what one sometimes takes for granted.
There wasn't much in the way of fungi to be seen, apart from many Auricularia (Jew's Ears) - but this cluster I spotted reminded me of different shades of brown velvet ...
