Diary of an Edinburgher

Calton Hill

Bike

A frosty blue skied morning! JR had her executive housekeeping stint, so Archie and I went up Calton Hill. I’ve been meaning to go for ages. Archie kindly kept waiting for me as I struggled up the steps then the long slope to the top. But it was worth it. Though there were hordes of people there. I'm so glad the weather's been good for the holiday makers - I could see that Arthur's Seat and the Crags were also mobbed.

We didn’t fancy walking along Princes Street because it was so busy, so I walked to our bus stop, expecting a long wait, or just to walk on. But yay! My bus just arrived. I love that.

I see Edinburgh is the best place in the world to live - some new study. But I don’t think they asked any actual residents. If they fixed the potholes, emptied bins and swept the streets regularly, I’d vote for them.
