Soft Southerners!
You get off a plane at Gatwick by walking along an enclosed walkway and you don't even get into the fresh air to use the railway connecting the North to the South Terminals. Then you don't venture out into the elements to catch the Gatwick Express to Victoria Station. There you don't experience fresh air and freedom to go to the Underground. Even exiting the tube you need not see daylight if you are visiting the museums. I suspect you can go sightseeing to London without actually exposing yourself to it.
All very handy and keeps you out of the rain etc, but I can't help thinking it's all a bit artificial, cold and sterile.
