Preparing for a wild night

After my disturbing encounter on my way into town on Saturday, a much nicer one today. I walked past Nick Hancock on Porthill Bridge and we exchanged smiles.

Met SS and Grace in Tanners for a little bit of wine tasting and to pick up some fizz for tonight. I'm not much of a fan of New Year's Eve, mostly because staying awake until midnight is such a struggle, but we've got a night of PJs, fizz, games and a take-away planned with some neighbours which suits me entirely.

The last year has been brilliant and full of so many wonderful memories. It's probably the year that I've spent the most time outdoors, which has definitely helped.

This has been the year that I cycled to South Wales and ran a marathon, created a garden where there was once only mud and discovered a love of camping. Summer was all about watching a non-embarrassing England Football team in the world cup whist basking in a heatwave and then a good few camping trips to explore places near and far. I walked, cycled and ran probably more than I have done in previous years and saw plenty of beautiful Shropshire. I rode around Amsterdam with my favourite travel buddy. I didn't complete my yearly 50 book challenge but I did manage a solid 43 which I'm very happy about.

2018, you've been wonderful. 2019, I am ready for you.
