Native bee

This bush was swarming with these wee bees.  Initially I thought they were some form of flying bug.  It took me a while to realise they were a native bee - they were so small and fast. barely stopping to rest.

They don't actually make honey but they do pollinate a lot of our native trees and shrubs.  I believe they are under threat from wasps.

Finally updated blips from 24th Dec to now.  Still frustrated with myself that I'm not managing to put them up each day - or take anything better than snap shots at the moment.  Still hoping to rectify that over the next few weeks.
