Boxing Day Sunshine

My partner is working today, so I go for a wee bike ride around Midlothian. It's quite bright, not too cold and initially not too breezy. Briefly, it is east to Gilmerton, then south to Eskbank, where I join the Dalkeith to Penicuik path. I follow this to Bonnyrigg, where I head south along National Cycle Route 1, until the sign for Yorkston. This is my turning point for home. I head west to Gladhouse Reservoir, then to Penicuik, from where I head north to home.

The whole route can be seen at Relive here.

In the afternoon, my eldest son and his fiancée visit for a quick Christmas chat, and to swap some presents. Al they want to meet up with the twins, who are off to Sweden for the New Year. While talking, we notice some waxwings on the Rowan trees at the front of the house.

After my eldest and his fiancée have left, it's time for tea, a buffet tea. And a quiet evening, especially once the twins have left with their friends for an evening out. They're not coming back until the 3rd January.
