Woodland Tulip
A dismal day weather-wise, grey with periods of persistent rain. Pete and I braved Sainsbury's in the morning - it was heaving but everyone was good-humoured and a few musicians from Stamford Brass Band were playing Christmas carols, which gave it a very festive feel.
The rest of the day was spent cleaning, tidying and cooking - the usual pre-Christmas frenzy, though as both of us have an irritating virus, lots of breaks were taken!
Alex and Ben were out for the evening at a friends new house, so Pete and I had a quiet meal for two - salmon, new potatoes and sugar-snap peas - very light and fresh.
I was about to go to bed when I realised I'd taken no photos, so I grabbed this tulip and took it up to the light pad for a quick shoot - a splash of colour on a very grey winter day.
