The end of the day

The hills were covered in snow for a while during the day and looked great from the town but I had no camera (fool!) with me at that time even my phone was at home on charge.

It was 2 hours later I headed off up the hills and just as I did so the Snake Pass closed signs were being removed a sure sign of a thaw.

So the snow disappeared before my eyes as I climbed up towards James's Thorn on Bleaklow. In the end I didn't walk that far and took this shot in the last light on my return.
