Night Fishing

Evening all,

I went to see a new patient today, that i'd been assured wasn't too far away......

sixty effing miles later, i'm the other side of Derby, sitting in a small living room being stared down at by case after case of dead,glassy single eyes of various fishes of all size and shapes.

There was a huge pike in a dusty grotty case over the door that i swear was at least that long (stretches arms out to widest point possible) and was obviously holding pride of place.

Have to say i found it all a little bit creepy, like stepping into a Piscean mausoleum...

"and this is great auntie ida, shes a haddock and she's been with us since we caught her and bashed her head in in 1982.....do you want a closer look?"

still i sense it could've been worse, if i'd have been in the deep south ofthe usa the trophies on the walls could've been much more sinister...

"and this really is great auntie ida, she's dead, cause we killed her.....say, your head looks mighty pretty to me boy!"......gulp.
