So today, something funny happened.  Well it wasn't funny as such, but after the event it is good to laugh about these things.

I was sat at my desk as usual at work and my mobile phone rang at 3.23. This is unusual. I saw that it was my mum and instantly knew something would be wrong as she was picking my children up from school.  In these few seconds all sorts of things run through one's mind - one of the children has been injured, or they are ill or I have forgotten something. But no.  I answered the phone and my mum very calmly told me that she went to go into my front door but the chain was on. I could hear my house alarm in the background.  Now, I remembered in my mind's eye taking the chain off the door that very morning, so thought I must have been going mad! Anyway, I have a very lovely neighbour who came to the rescue and jumped over the gate, unlatched the back gate so that my mum could enter through the back door!

Knowing they were safely inside and alarm had been deactivated I got back to work but still had this niggling thought that I was sure I took the chain off. It transpired that my daughter had put the chain on the door this morning before we left through the back door!! Of course she thought she was doing a good job and securing the house!

So there was a bit of excitement for the day!!

Today's inspiration:

"I will know peace when... my learning is reflected in my doing...
Learning and growing in life is not measured by pace. You may know how to do many things. You may have made vigilant attempts to gather as much knowledge and information as is available about yourself and your life. However learning can only be measured by doing.... If you think you have learned something but you are still unable to execute it, then your learning and growing have not been completed... until today, you may have believed that all you needed to do was learn a thing. Just for today, examine how your learning has affected your doing. If one is not reflecting the other, know that there are more lessons in store for you..." Iyanla Vanzant
