A Christmas rose

I spotted this solitary rose growing by the fence in the garden. I wonder why it is still blooming.

After the horrendous weather yesterday, today's mildness was very welcome. Spent the day doing lots of jobs outside in the chicken field and having a general tidy up.

My extra is a little chicken peering out of the dog kennel that is usually used by the ducks. In fact there were two hens and Bruno Mars inside.
