A magic carpet

I spent a couple of hours here talking carpets. So many stories about what the designs mean, how they were used, how old they are. And apparently Persian rugs are getting cheaper. The owners are from Afghanistan and you can tell they love their job, and are passionate about sharing their knowledge. Fascinating.

Got a last minute invitation to a colleague and friend’s place for dinner. His five year old son asked why I wasn’t wearing a hijab. You know you’re among a different culture then (Syrian).

Lucky to have good colleagues.
