Pokesdown for Boscombe

We walked a couple of kilometres, through Pokesdown, to the bus stop to Boscombe, to get in our daily steps. Quirky vintage, antique and other independents in this often overlooked area of Bournemouth, with new shops arriving regularly. Even a Hungarian baker whose Sourdough won an award for the best in the country a few weeks ago.

Pokesdown station on the way seems to have more action than usual. It always looks pretty empty.

Today’s looking brighter ...

“Pokesdown railway station was opened in 1886 and quickly became the heart of the area. Many other communal places sprang up around the station including the laundry and fire station.”
