Red Shoes

I don't think this was my first pair of red shoes ever, but it certainly is the first pair I've had in 30 years or so. I wore them to our office Christmas party tonight. Well, I didn't actually wear them -- I carried them to the party in a bag and put them on for the picture. They are really, really pretty shoes, but the store sent me the wrong size -- too late to correct the mistake and since I had my heart set on wearing them, and had described them in detail to my friends who were all thoroughly excited about my venture out of my comfort zone of neutral, I was determined to memoralize the event however lamely. After the picture I put them back in the bag and wore black ones the rest of the evening. Since I rarely get dressed up and go to parties I can be forgiven for not being better at it I hope. Speaking of my neutral comfort zone, the red nail polish and lipstick were even more alarming, but I've found that the older I get, the more adventurous I become. Don't know if that's good or bad, but it's fun.
