Catching the Morning Sun

I woke up at 6am, so checked my phone to see if I had any messages from Alan saying he’d arrived safely and he had, but I’d missed him as he’d already gone to bed.  I also had a message from Pete the pilot to say that he’d been to see Alan mid flight and had a chat which was nice of him.

Anyway, I couldn’t get back to sleep so I decided to get up, and go to the marina to catch the sunrise.  I sorted the dogs out first, had my breakfast and put my gym gear on so I could go straight to the gym afterwards.

I was a few minutes late for the actual rising of the sun, and after taking a few photos my attention was drawn to a group of cormorants which slowly increased from three to about ten.  They were basking in the sunshine and some went fishing, but didn’t appear to catch anything.  I spent about an hour there and have probably taken 100’s of photos as my camera was on continuous burst, so I’ve only briefly looked at them, but this one stood out in particular due to the colours.  I’ve put my other favourite in my extras.

I had another good session at the gym and then went home to get ready for work.  As Alan is away and today is my late shift, I’d booked the boys in for a doggy walk with Charlotte for about 4pm, and she’ll take them again tomorrow lunch time which is Alan’s normal day for working at home.

Work’s been busy, and I’m still here, but I’ll be finishing in about 30 minutes and it’s nice and quiet now as there’s only one counsellor in seeing patients.

One of the counsellors and a patient have bought one of my calendars today. Every year I do my own and this year I decided to see if I could sell any and have been surprised at the response. I think I’ve sold about 12 so far, and I’ve been caught off the hop really as I didn’t expect there to be such a response, so next year I shall plan it better!

Anyway, I’ll go and do my end of day jobs so that I’m ready to leave when the patients have gone.  Have a nice evening and I’ll try and catch up with you when I get home.
