Opinel Envy

Last night, on an after-dinner stroll with Spencer, we walked down the main pedestrian street in our town to see the Christmas displays in the shop windows and came upon this gem. Opinel knives are made in Savoie, the department where we live, and we are big fans. I gave Spencer a folding Opinel with and INOX blade and the Savoie flag on the handle two years ago for his birthday. Spencer also brought a couple of them home with him after our last trip to France to give as gifts to friends, and we bought an Opinel chef's knife the first week that we moved into our apartment in Moûtiers. This photo is only one tiny corner of the window display. Needless to stay, we'll be stopping into this shop on our Christmas shopping rounds.
