Icy

We had freezing rain this morning which turned instantly to ice on the windscreen as we were driving to some friends place for lunch. The windscreen wipers made hard work of it. However, we were treated to a wonderful lunch of soup with liver dumplings, roast duck and fabulous desserts. It was late when we finally dragged ourselves from the table and the freezing rain had turned the ground into an ice rink. we made it to the car to discover there was a half centimetre of ice on the windscreen as seen in the Blip. Hubby sprayed it with de-icer spray - twice - before being able to scrape it off. The trip to the highway was a bit hairy but OK once we were on the highway as it had been strewn with salt. Our yard was pure ice as well so Hubby threw some salt around. When I went to bed it was iced over, again. An interesting experience for me - havent seen this before. It is supposed to be warmer overnight so should be safer when Hubby leaves at 4am for Vienna.
