Games night

It was a long day today. I had a day working away and had to leave early so we got up and on even earlier than normal. Her Aunt came to supervise morning practise and get her to school. She loved it! The afore-mentioned aunt was a clarinetist in a previous life and both enjoyed the time together.

Today was the Annual Christmas Assembly at school- they have a huge ceremony for the lighting of the Christmas tree with a wonderful story by the head every year. They all came home with a festive rubber duck this year, though I have yet to be told why! She also had a practise with the H of M for her solo in the concert in a couple of weeks. She said she’s very excited too because in the whole orchestra playing of Silent Night she gets a solo.

I wasn’t going to be back in time to pick her up from school, though I was earlier than expected and only just missed it! But by that point she was with her friend and they still wanted the planned tea and playtime together.

I got my little lady back at a new social event we trialled with church-
board games night! I was pleasantly surprised just how much fun everyone had. It was so nice to see how people mixed around different games. And Katie discovered Foosball!

In the time Id had at home before getting her, I had got her Christmas tree out and put its lights on ready for morning. I ran ahead of her when we got home to turn them on. Her squeals of delight when she saw were wonderful. See extra photo.

A fabulous evening.
