Frosty

So, December begins. Made a deliberate attempt to stay away from the town - but to engage with the spirit of all things Christmas. Went to a small village (much smaller than the one we live in - and that's only 800 including the surrounding farms) between Forfar and Montrose.

Watched the police try to separate some Forfar fans who were clearly gearing up for the big match with Ayr United, then on to the Danish Christmas market. Was sooo busy! I have no idea where everyone had come from.

Anyway, the daughter has been moaning at me for years to get her an advent calendar, so she came home with a 5 foot tall pixie doll with 25 pockets for putting things in. Of course we still have to get the things to put into the pockets, but she decided that it would be more fun if we did that every day until Christmas. Advent in reverse really.

Other than that we identified a nice food shop in Kirriemuir that sells their own handmade chocolates, coffee specifically roasted to make the most of the local water, artisan cheeses... and fantastic croque monsieur. I think that should make Christmas shopping a lot easier and I can follow it up with lunch away from the maddening crowd!
