The Burj Al Spinnaker

So our little adventure was to Portsmouth, we decided to do our Christmas shopping at Gunwharf Quays, so Alan suggested we stay overnight so that we could be there as the shops opened.  We arrived at the hotel about 8.30pm and after dropping our bags off in the room, we went down to the bar for a drink and then went back to the room to watch I'm a Celebrity on catch up.

After breakfast we headed  to Gunwharf Quays and enjoyed being able to shop without it being too busy.  We had a successful shopping trip and got most of our presents bought - I still need to get Alan's and that's always tricky as it's his birthday on 15th December, so I have to think of something for that too!

We had a walk around the quay and to Old Portsmouth where I was able to get this view looking back across at the Spinnaker Tower.  It's very much like the Burj Al Arab in Dubai, and is in fact sponsored by Emirates.  We've been up it before so didn't bother this time.  We had a late lunch at Pizza Express and got home about 7pm.  It's been a lovely day and we were very lucky with the weather as you can see.  

Oh, I got a message from a friend in the Brighton Skies Group to tell me that my squirrel from last Sunday’s blip had made it into the newspaper, luckily I managed to get hold of a copy on our way home. Then tonight I’ve seen that two of my entries have been chosen for the Sussex Weather competition! Feeling quite chuffed :-)
