Doi Inthanon

Less gold than yesterday but nevertheless very impressive. The two chedis stand almost on top of Doi Inthanon, the highest mountain in Thailand (2565 m) and were built to honour the sixtieth birthday anniversary of late King Bhumibol in 1987 and Queen Sirikit in 1992 (see extra). The place is a popular tourist destination also for Thai tourists.
