MISTY MORNING

We had a rather fraught visit to the dentist for Mum - upstairs in an uneven Georgian building in Farnham, where I had to carry her three-wheeled walking trolley up the stairs at the same time as helping her to drag herself up the stairs because there was no lift or stairlift (it might be time to change her dentist to one with a more accessible surgery, although we watched several older or less mobile people struggling too, so maybe it's time for the surgery to improve their accessibility). However, the dentist told her that her 90-year-old teeth are in a lot better condition than an awful lot of young people's teeth these days.

While she recovered after lunch, and in contrast to yesterday's sad conversation I went out to meet unofficial extra sister Ann* for coffee, and had the extra pleasure of being joined by her daughter who I haven't seen for years, and meeting Ann's grandchildren whom I've never met. Of course in the general catching up and mayhem created by a 1-year-old and 3-year-old,  I forgot to take any photos.

*Ann was sister K's inseparable best friend at school, and has been part of the family ever since (and if Kendall is reading this, she's also the sister of Fiona Collins, who was also at school with us).
