When photography makes a difference

Occasionally, I'm reminded of the power photography can have to help change things for the better.  

This article shows the impact of Lewis Hines' searing photographs to change the perception of child labor and inspire the creation of laws to ban child labor in the U.S. in 1938.

The US Library of Congress holds some 5,000 images of Hines, documenting both child labor and the arrival of immigrants at Ellis Island.
