Harvest

Was wakened by a bleep around 6 this morning.  The bleep returned every minute.  It was the beep of a smoke alarm to tell me to change the battery.  And it wasn't going to stop until it was changed.  It took some time to identify which alarm.  It is the most inaccessible one high in the ceiling.  No ladder that I have could reach it.  Someone had the bright idea the it could be reached by moving the larder cupboard and standing on top of it.  I survived and the bleeps have ceased.

Meantime, the seasonal harvest is being gathered.
