Swans for St.Andrew's Day.

The day dawned clear and sunny, very frosty, roofs all twinkling and the excitement of it being my birthday. The big nearly full moon is still visible and the sun is dazzlingly bright..
I am 57 today, but not too old to wear a Birthday Girl badge! Pension a bit awat as yet!
I love birthdays, and being born on Churchill's birthday date is like having a wonderfully strong and respected English political Father watching over me. Happy St. Andrew's Day, to all my Blip Family in Scotland. I love all things Scottish, the people, the accent and turns of phrase and the Highlands, the deer. All of it is so magical and beautiful.. Aviemore, where my brother- in- law and my sister have a home, is a delightful place, and close to the Caledonian Forest.
This morning , after dropping Maria at college, I delivered the remaining leaflets for Newsquest. I was wrapped up like a Yeti!
Then I went to the canal to feed the birds and to my great joy there were four grown up swans. I fed them some Hovis Seed Sensation, my favourite bread. They came right up to me, realising I was a friend.
In the Spring this year I watched their parent swans, pen and cob, building the nest for these fantastic birds and it is so lovely to have watched them grow and get adult white feathers.
Have a really good day and a splendid weekend. Keep warm!
