Scarlet Caterpillar Club
Very excited to find this one today: the Scarlet Caterpillar Club (Cordyceps militaris) which I've only seen a few times before. This remarkable fungus grows on the underground pupae of moths before the fruiting body emerges from the ground covered in raised pores. Underground it should still be attached to the moth pupa. I may have a go at digging it up tomorrow if I can find it again.
