A couple of days ago; while driving around with DesertCamel, I spotted a lovely painted tower (the stuff of postcards). I attempted to take a photo at the time; but was a bit slow with the shutter finger, and DesertCamel's cry of "oh look, you can get the military police car in as well" completely distracted me for that milli-second too long. Today; we drove along the same road and I reacted faster to get my photo. This led us to drive around and get the tower from different angles. In the process, we passed through a painted village, in which every house has painted walls. This shot is of one of these houses. The village is set to be demolished for an excavation. It seems that the discovery of artefacts dating back thousands of years is more important than the preservation of a pretty village.

I will continue to pursue the perfect photograph of the tower while I am here to blip on another day. Hopefully the sky will be blue rather than sandy grey then; and the effect will be worth the wait.
