Theba Pisana Arietina

Among its other glories Jerez plays host to an extremely rare subspecies of snail which clusters in large numbers on the Sierra above the town. A few weeks ago the plants were covered in these tiny snails. Coming back most of them had gone, but some were left along with their tiny offspring with the ground littered with snail shells, one can only imagine the fate of the parent snails once they had fulfilled their biological duty.
