Souvenir

Today I had an email from my German friend. We met on holiday in Italy in 1963 and have corresponded ever since, firstly by letter and more recently by email. Luckily she speaks perfect English. She follows my blipfoto journal. Her email says how they are engrossed in Brexit and, like us, wonder at the outcome. I have thought about her a lot recently, wondering how the anniversary of the end of The Great War was marked in Germany.
We have met a few times since that time so long ago. Most recently we met in Bruges and the four of us had a happy few days together. My souvenir from that holiday was this cushion cover with woven pictures of the houses in that lovely little town. I like the swans!
