Waiting

I spent much of this morning waiting. I had my second cataract operation, and the procedure was very straightforward and took less than half an hour. But I was in the clinic for almost three hours! Waiting to be signed in, waiting for drops, waiting to be told how to administer drops and a lot of the time just waiting. Every time I saw anybody I had to give my date of birth. It wasn't too bad really. It was a pleasant waiting room and good conversations developed amongst all of us waiting. After the operation they gave me a mug of very good tea, worth a blip. I am so thankful for the NHS.
