A New Track

Despite regularly walking in this area of Cannock Chase, I'd never come across this track before.  I'd been drawn to some silver birch trees behind Springslade Lodge as a potential photographic subject, problem was I couldn't get into the right position so I circled round and then came across this path.  Even better the sun started to break through the stubborn low cloud at the same time.

The leaves are off many of the trees now and only where the deciduous trees are sheltered from the winds, like this location amongst the taller evergreens pines, are they hanging on.
